Exactly What Does FTP Stand for and What Can it do for Me?

FTP stands for "file transfer protocol". FTP is basically a way of sending files over the Internet.

An FTP program can help you with uploading information from your computer to your server and vice versa. All you do is drag the information from one window to the next.

There are many programs available from free to expensive and various ones have different tools and different functions that you might be interested in.
